Happy New Year everyone! 2013 is starting out with a bang! I’ll be playing The House of Blues on the historic sunset strip tonight for a solid acoustic rock block along with former Anchorman Richard Marchetta. I’ll be joining him for instrumentals on his set and vice versa from 8-9 p.m. I’ve got a brand new song to debut and a fun Happy New Year cover song to share as well. It will be a great way to ring in the new year!

I am also happy to announce I am now a contributing writer for Music Connection. You can check out my latest review of the band Little Red Lung in Music Connection’s January Edition (p. 53!) http://musicconnection.com/magazine/current-digital/

So the world did not end. Like I said, if the Mayans were right they would still be around. I did happen to have a psychic dream of sorts in early 2012 that was almost the impetus of one of my notorious Currenthought cartoons. Dick Clark was being consulted by ancient Mayans. They explained the Mayan calendar was actually symbolic of the ball being dropped on Rockin New Year’s Eve, and to Dick’s delight they said this is the year you finally get to retire! No more Dick Clark and no more twinkies but we’ll keep on rockin.

Last month’s Christmas shows were super fun and a big success. If you missed watching Doug Conlon play choir leader for the band of ladies that joined me for my cover of John Lennon’s Happy Christmas you can watch the fun on the archived ustream video of the event: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/27725254

They say we are moving into a new phase of enlightenment, peace and overall change. I don’t know about you but I am feeling the shift already! Wishing everyone much health and happiness for the new year!
