If you RSVP on Brooke’s FB event page we will get you on the FREE VIP guest list! And in the event you needed us to sweeten the deal even more, this theme bar comes equipped with naughty nurses and prescription cocktails for all your ails.

Jool’s Goodies is the new cottage industry baked goods operation of Juliana Martinez, a renowned muralist who puts as much passion into her baking as she does to her exquisite art. 25% of all Goodies sold at A Sweet Show will be benefitting Teen Line. This organization allows young people to call in and speak to trained peers about sensitive issues ranging from bullying to suicide. Teen suicide prevention is a cause close to Brooke’s heart having lost a young friend at the tender age of 14. Brooke has worked in the past as a media coordinator for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and as a volunteer for the National Survivors of Suicide Day at UCLA. Her favorite tool she garnered from that event was creating your own hope box. Write down your happiest moments be they as simple as the memory of a beautiful sunset or some accomplishment you are very proud of; include those in your hope box to read out loud to yourself when you are feeling so sad you think that things can’t get better. When you read these happy messages you will remember that you have been happy before and things can and will get better!

Brooke would also like to announce an annual fundraiser for her friend Kate up in Seattle. Kate’s March of Dimes March for Babies walk is coming up in early May. Kate has been doing this event every year with her daughter and it has become something of a tradition. As a fellow former preemie (or in her case, small fry at the hatchery) Brooke Trout is in full support of their research and feels this is a valuable cause. You can help support their efforts on their TEAM PAGE.

Also up this weekend Brooke will be joining former Flat Cat Radio host and Anchorman, singer-songwriter Dave Strauss this Saturday at The Fret House, 309 N Citrus Ave, Covina, CA 91723. They had such an awesome time last month at J.C. Hyke’s Songwriter Serenade at Matt Denny’s they decided to keep it up and Dave will be joining Brooke again at A Sweet Show next week.
