NetteRadio Colorado Fire Victim Benefit
Posted in Blog by Brooke Trout
Join Brill on Friday, July 12th at 7 p.m. to help victims of the Colorado fires! This month’s NetteRadio Affect The Effect Fundraiser at The Talking Stick, 1411 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA will benefit the Emergency Relief Fund for the Pikes Peak Region and feature an action packed night of performances by The Conlons, Brill, Amanda Abizaid and Lindsay Gillis (Someday Girl), Partners in Crime w/ Tapia Corel & Jim Rhodes, and Taryn Lounsbury with Jenny Swope for only a ten dollar donation which directly benefits the cause!
The Cause:
“With homes already burning in the Black Forest area and a hot, dry summer ahead of us, as well as flooding danger in the Waldo Canyon burn area, we want to be prepared to support the organizations that help our neighbors recover from disaster,” said Michael Hannigan (CEO, Emergency Relief Fund for the Pikes Peak Region,) “…to benefit non-profits, first responders, and other agencies providing local disaster relief.”
A committee of talented community members has been put into action to help achieve the maximum positive impact possible for every dollar invested back into the community. In its commitment to that end, PPCF is underwriting all of the administrative costs associated with the fund. That means 100% of every donation will flow back into the relief and recovery effort. The fund will provide financial resources to non-profits and agencies including first responders currently assisting with the fires and evacuations, and to assist agencies that will be working with future recovery and restoration efforts.
In the event you will be unable to physically attend the benefit please tune in and watch the performance! We’ll be streamed live over Ustream.tv at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/netteradio
Save the date:
Last month’s performance at Coffee Klatch, 806A W. Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773 with Jeannie Willets and Linda Geleris was such a fun success we are returning for another performance with our friend and best guitarist ever, Ric Taylor, for a free musical showcase August 10th at 7 p.m. Ric has won national songwriting contests for ASCAP, The Songwriters Resource Service and the Telluride Film Festival. Additionally he has worked as a staff writer for the Screen Gems-E.M.I. publishing company and has received rave reviews from the likes of songwriter Arthur Hamilton (“Cry Me A River”.) Here is a fun little video exemplifying the subversive, dare we say punk, nature of Ric Taylor: Postcard -
