On Top of Spaghetti Westerns

Brill: British slang for “Brilliant,” equivalent of American “cool.” brill (br l) n. pl. brill or brills: An edible flatfish (Bothas rhombus) of European waters. Brill is the name of the latest musical collaboration between Brooke Trout and Dave Strauss, a stripped down acoustic duet complete with harmonies and a sprinkling of shoegaze. Save the date for Saturday March 9th to catch the extended official debut performance of Brill at Starbucks, in Glendora out on the front patio for a pleasant afternoon of coffee and a concert between 1 and 3 p.m.
Brooke is happy to be volunteering to support an evening of music featuring Songs For Sandy Hook compilation artists tomorrow night at The Talking Stick in Venice, CA. Featuring performances by Marvin Etzioni, Arrica Rose & The …’s, Calico The Band, Steve Barton, Manda Mosher, Stefano Capobianco, Shannon Hurley, Brandon Schott, Kirsten Proffit, Jaime Wyatt, Margie Balter, Rob Mullins, Hunter MacLeod, Celia Chavez, Ted Wulfers, David Vito Gregoli andThe Conlons, this compilation project is in support of those affected by the tragedy in Connecticut with 100% of all proceeds going to Danbury Hospital.
There will also be an incredible selection of items up for auction including a Daisy Rock Guitar, K’s Choice Package, (2 VIP Tix to Sun May 5th Hotel Cafe Show, Autographed CDs, TourPoster), K’s Choice DVDs & CDs, Susan Nichole Vegan Handbag, Jewelry by Gina Venturini Designs and more! The event will be webcast live 7PM-12AM PDT at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/netteradio. Brooke is also happy to spread the word about another wonderful community event happening on March 29th! Punk In The Trunk and Burger Records are proud sponsors of “Spaghetti Western,” a show to raise money to give a spaghetti meal to the homeless! 100% of the door money will go toward groceries! Starting up at 9 p.m. at Pehrspace, 325 Glendale Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90026, the event will feature Moses Campbell, Palm Reader, Wide Streets, Maggie Moon and a special appearance by comedian Abraham Ramirez who will be warming up the backseat between bands, and your stomach will be filled by the vegan stylings of TACOS A LA BRAVA per the organizers, “They’re anarcho punks, so u know it’s cheap!” $5 cover donation benefits the cause.
