You can catch our final performance as house band for the Rad News Sketch Show this weekend at the Bang Theatre on 457 N. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90036. We have come to the end of our residency for the troupe. It was a blast participating in sketches, commercials, musical performances and parodies and we are grateful for the experience. $5 Tickets at the door for a brand new show! Starts at 8 p.m. prime time!

The Red Herring loves New York! We enjoyed charting for two weeks on WPNR in Utica, as well as getting play on WMVL in Purchase and WCVM in Morrisville. Hard to believe it’s been a month already since The Red Herring released Chasing Windmills . We achieved radio play for the album coast to coast, making playlists at WPPJ AM in Pittsburgh, PA, WRNR in Annapolis, MD and KMNR in Rolla, MO. We also charted again on WXIN in Providence, RI and are still holding on the Los Angeles indie rock charts for The Deli Magazine.

Many of you have asked us which of our songs is getting the most airplay. It’s an interesting question and we’re tickled to say that we’re getting a pretty even mix so far! KUNM in Albuquerque, NM played “Company Man” and “Terminal.” WXDU in Durham, NC played “Cities Under Seige.” WCVM played “Valhalla.” So what is your favorite song from Chasing Windmills? Call in to your local radio stations and request your favorite tracks! (We have provided request line information at the bottom of this newsletter for your reference.) If you’re here in Cali you can also support your local record store by picking up a copy of Chasing Windmills at Ameoba Records in Hollywood under the New Rock category. Our album is also now available at Sacramento’s own Dimple Records! And if you aren’t in California you can still get a physical or digital copy at CDBaby.com and iTunes.

We had a lot to celebrate last month! After our CD Release show we met the illustrious DJ Disco Penguin. The Red Herring played a seriously seminal rock show with Distopian Dream Girl, Sketch Orchestra and Disco Penguin at the historic Old Towne Pub last month. We loved getting the chance to work with this incredible crew for a high energy night filled with original hard core shoegazin that yes, melted faces! We wanted to thank everyone who made it out to that show and can’t wait to rock it out again in Pasadena!

We also want to congratulate 4th Street Recording for their plug in The Hollywood Reporter! The Red Herring were honored to record Chasing Windmills at this “Temple of Sound” in Santa Monica with Sejo Navajas (Cold Blue Rebels, The People’s Party) and Denise Barbarita (The Roots, Stevie Wonder).

We are also grateful for our first west coast review of Chasing Windmills by William Phoenix of The LA Music Examiner who wrote, “The threesome demonstrate their individual talents including but not limited to Dave Perea’s ever-present, often haunting ‘dead man’s’ harmonica, Vincent Perea’s frequent pounding percussion and Trout’s versatile vocals. If The Red Herring keep rockin’ like this they just may find their music taking the world’s ‘cities under siege’.”
