Catch Brill Saturday night (June 22nd) at Coffee Klatch, 806A W. Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773 at 7 p.m. We have some new songs in the mix and will be joined by Jeannie Willets and Linda Geleris for this free musical showcase!

Renowned for her memorable melodies, alluring vocals and mesmerizing guitar work, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Jeannie Willets has been captivating audiences for more than two decades and has shared a stage with the likes of Suzanne Vega and Shawn Colvin. Songwriter Warren Pash (“Private Eyes”) says, “Jeannie plays her guitar like it’s a piano and, with all those walking bass things she does, I have to say that she’s, also, a damn good bass-player!” Fun fact: Dave was a member of the Jeannie Willets Band from 2000 – 2002, and a member of Brooke Trout and The Anchormen from 2008 – 2010. (Brill is the current collaboration between Brooke Trout and Dave Strauss, an acoustic harmonizing duo.)

We are also very happy to announce that Jeannie will be joined by Linda Geleris! Her song “Call Me Crazy” appeared in the ColumbiaTriStar film “Implicated.” She is also known for co-founding SongNet with Taxi’s Michael Lederer. The free and friendly songwriting network, with monthly music industry guest speakers and monthly showcases, has been running strong since 1999.

And now time for a shout out! Brooke Trout met Unique Monique when volunteering for the international nonprofit singer/songwriter organization Songsalive.org. The two captured the attention of Justin Timberlake who wasn’t sure what to make of the aboriginal originals who paraded the ASCAP convention like true Gilli Moon Warrior Girls, passing out literature and signing up new members. Unique Monique has been a great advocate of the vegan lifestyle in the Los Angeles community and is now hoping to draw more awareness to the cause via a vegan wedding for a reality tv show. She is already in the running with 100 votes. You can vote every day so let’s help her to make her beautiful wedding dream come true! Trout participated in last week’s Pasadena Chalk Festival benefit for the nonprofit Light Bringer Project. The event was a success with all proceeds going to Room 13, a student run art studio supported in part by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Brooke’s forthcoming chalk festival will be the weekend of August 17th and 18th for the annual Ventura Chalk Festival benefit for Food Share Inc., member of Feeding America.
