Save the date for Saturday May 25th to catch Brill at our next show at Bravery Brewing, 42705 8th St. W. in Lancaster at 6 p.m.  We’ll be joining the stage with My Sistine Chapel and other acts TBA!

Aside from musical endeavors the summer is shaping up with lots of chalk! Brooke will be chalk drawing in Animation Alley at the annual Pasadena Chalk Festival benefit for Light Bringer Project on June 15th at 1 p.m. Light Bringer Project is a nonprofit, Pasadena-based arts foundation known for producing major public events including this chalk festival and the notorious Doo Dah Parade. Brooke previously participated as an artist for their Guinness Book of World Records certified largest chalk drawing event. The Pasadena Chalk Festival also features a silent auction for unique art canvases designed by the chalk artists to raise funds for Room 13, a student run art studio supported in part by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Brooke will also be chalk drawing at the annual Ventura Chalk Festival benefit for Food Share Inc., member of Feeding America. The chalk festival is just one part of Arts in the Park, a juried fine arts and crafts show which will take place at the Ventura Harbor Village on August 17th and 18th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The event is being sponsored by FOOD Share Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit that provides food and support to the hungry of Ventura County by distributing over 9 million pounds of nutritious food per year through over 150 partners, government programs, and outreach programs.

Last month’s community benefits for Sandy Hook at The Talking Stick as well as the Spaghetti Western fundraiser at Pehrspace were both resounding successes.
